Yesterday at the RMA’s monthly luncheon, Orysia Boychuk-President of the Ukrainian-Canadian Congress of Alberta along with Lubonyr Markevych, gave thanks to the RMA and Local 488 for our recent fundraiser BBQ in support of the people of Ukraine. In total, we raised a whopping $22,982.50!! It was a touching, heartfelt thank you speech from both Orysia and Lubonyr for helping those families affected by the war in Ukraine. This is exactly the type of community support we have done for decades, and will continue to do for decades to come. Way to go RMA and UA Local 488!
Bet made, debt paid! Business Manager Trevor Robertson from Local 496 shown here pays up the $1000 donation to Edmonton Local 488’s charity of choice- Edmonton Alano Club and wears their jersey in the 496 office! Trevor would also like to remind us all to be aware that the UA has a member wellness program that members can always utilize for any situation life may throw at you too!
Local 496 Business Manager Trevor Robertson and Local 488 Business Manager Rod McKay have a friendly provincial rivalry going between Locals for the Battle of Alberta! The losing city’s Local will donate $1000 to the winning city’s charity of choice and the losing Business Manager will wear the winning city’s Jersey for the day!
