Please share and take the time to complete this short survey from the government of Canada to express your concerns and ideas for how they can “stimulate job creation, strengthen and grow the middle class, and build a better economy.” This is our opportunity to voice our collective concerns surrounding an energy east pipeline, getting our natural resources to market, and encourage investment in oil and gas which will support all of Canada with a massive trickle down effect. Do your part and voice your opinion professionally.
September 30th – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
The UA Canadian office and Local 488 support the Indigenous Communities across Canada and recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30th.
Please, use this day for reflection, education, or participation in a community event to acknowledge the history of residential schools, honor the survivors, their families, and their communities. Take this day to learn something new about Indigenous culture, and how the residential school system has impacted communities, heritage, and way of life.
Massive congratulations to our very own Tyler Hayward for winning the John Tackaberry Future Leaders Award at the Building Trades of Alberta conference yesterday! Tyler is a 3rd year HVAC apprentice with Gateway Mechanical who embodies every value the UA represents- quality, production, safety, and of course, outstanding leadership! Way to go Tyler, we are extremely proud of your accomplishment!
