For those of you who receive our Pipeline Newsletter by regular mail, we would like to inform you of an error regarding the dues payment requirement date to be eligible for nomination, on page 16 of the Newsletter. The cutoff is 12:00 NOON on Friday, October 14th to have your dues up to date.
We are sad to announce that our annual Family Picnic event has been cancelled due to the unfortunate weather conditions we have had.

The Alberta Pipe Trades College is offering the EPRI Rigging Certification Course from June 8-12, 2026, at the Local 488 Training Centre in Edmonton. Designed for experienced UA journeypersons, this advanced course provides specialized training in safe rigging practices and the skills required to work as certified rigging specialists.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of industry best practices, safety requirements, and the complexities involved in rigging operations within industrial environments. A strong rigging background and a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience are required.
Space is limited. To register, contact Alberta Pipe Trades College at 780-488-1266. The course fee is $60.

On March 14, 2026, voting will take place in person at the Local Union 488 Dispatch Hall between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The ballots will be counted on Monday, March 16, 2026, and the results will be posted on the Local Union 488 website (local488.ca) by end of day Tuesday, March 17, 2026
