The Alberta Pipe Trades College (APTC) is currently seeking applications for the position of Shop Technician.
This full-time position supports the daily operation of the college’s classrooms, shops, shipping and receiving, purchasing, and facility organization. We are looking for a self-motivated, highly organized individual with strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently.
Red Seal Journeyperson certification is required, with preference given to candidates holding multiple Red Seal certifications.

The Alberta Pipe Trades College apprenticeship program has a need for a full-time welder instructor to present course material in the welding discipline.
Candidates for this position should be energetic leaders, have sound verbal and written communication skills, be committed to student motivation and achievement, and be oriented toward student success.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and present lessons, lectures and demonstrations to apprenticeship students.
Demonstrate procedures and supervise practical shop assignments. Prepare, administer and grade assignments and examinations.
Maintain student attendance, progress data and records.
Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews.
Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment.
Other related duties such as development of new instructional material and maintenance of instructional equipment.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Completion of Alberta Journeyman or Inter-Provincial Red Seal
Have an Alberta B-Pressure Welders Qualification (or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire)
3 to 5 years’ experience welding in the pressure vessel and piping industry would be a definite asset
Must be proficient with the following welding processes: SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, AOC/AOW and SAW
Familiarity with computers
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills
Remuneration:
Salary will commensurate with education and experience plus ICI benefit package
