Current Re-Opening Strategy
Local 488 is excited to announce our current re-opening strategy with enhanced safety guidelines and operational standards. At this time, our top priority is the health and safety of our members and staff. We are collaboratively working with Alberta Health Services and the Government of Alberta to keep everyone safe and healthy as possible.

Local 488 Main Building – tentatively opening by appointment only July 6, 2020 with more information to follow.
Dispatch will continue to run online until further notice.
Alberta Pipe Trades College– tentative re-opening date of Sept 1, 2020.
There will be no access to the Fort McMurray and Calgary offices at this time and all communications are to be done via email and or phone call.
Please review our guidelines and protocols posted below to ensure the safety of our staff and members while we re-open.

Fort McMurray Donations for Flood Evacuees
As many of you are already aware, thousands of Fort McMurray residents have once again been evacuated due to flooding caused by a 24 km long ice jam on the Athabasca River. Many have lost their homes once again.
Local 488 would like to show our support by helping to provide badly needed donations to the residents.
We will be accepting donations at our front doors at the Local 488 Office in Edmonton located at 16214-118 Ave on Thursday, April 30/20 from 9 am-3pm.
Social distancing rules will be strictly followed.
Right now they are in need of:
- New unopened bedding/sheets/pillows
- Size 5 6 and newborn diapers
- Formula
- Water
- Wipes
- Nonperishable food items
- Can openers
- Microwavable meals
- Toothbrush, Toothpaste,
- Toiletries Toilet paper Brushes, combs,
- adult diapers
- new/unopened under wear all sizes including plus size and sports bras
*****NO USED CLOTHING OR BEDDING****
