Massive congratulations to our very own Tyler Hayward for winning the John Tackaberry Future Leaders Award at the Building Trades of Alberta conference yesterday! Tyler is a 3rd year HVAC apprentice with Gateway Mechanical who embodies every value the UA represents- quality, production, safety, and of course, outstanding leadership! Way to go Tyler, we are extremely proud of your accomplishment!

Local 488 made it to the big leagues! Our Local and the RMA’s incredible efforts to help those affected by the events in the Ukraine made the inside cover of the UA Journal! This is what the UA is all about! A huge thank you to the RMA, the wonderful ladies of the RMA, members and families who donated their time as well as monetary contributions to support this great cause- THANK YOU!! Big thanks to Edmonton Mayor Amarjeet Sohi for spending time at UA Local 488’s grill during the Edmonton & District Labour Council’s annual Labour Day BBQ in Giovanni Caboto Park on September 5th. Always great to see leaders out on Labour Day, thanking folks like the members of the UA 488 for the work we do and the labour we provide both in Edmonton and beyond. We’re thankful for the strong working relationship we’re building with all levels of government to help guide our elected officials as they make decisions and policies that directly impact our membership.
