Your Supp Committee would like to share the Peter and Ingrid Mras Scholarship with you to nominate an outstanding apprentice! Please read the information below about the Mras Family and their extremely generous donation to provide assistance to apprentices, as well as more details on the application process. Three scholarships of $1500 each will be awarded to eligible applicants, so start nominating today!
Ballots will be collected from the Post Office on December 16, 2025 and will be counted on December 16-19. Results will be posted on the Local 488 website by December 19, 2025.
To be eligible to run for any position in the Officer Elections you must meet the following criteria:
You must be a Journeyman member in good standing for a period of two (2) years from the date of the nomination meeting.
Dues must be paid up to and including September 2025.
Campaigning cannot begin until nominations have been completed and campaign material or stickers will be limited to the dispatch hall.
Self nominations will be accepted. A reminder to send in a letter to the attention of the president if you are not going to be at the meeting. The letter must state what position you are nominating/running for, and must include your name, and UA card number.
Submissions for the Campaign Literature Newsletter are due on October 20, 2025, by 4:00 p.m. Submissions will not be accepted after this time.
Once you are deemed eligible to run, you will get a package that includes a form to fill out if you wish to have a scrutineer. The package also includes a form that must be filled out and handed in at the meeting, along with the Campaign Rules for Candidates.
