Our business development team along with Alanna Marklund from UA Canada, Jason Hooper-welding examiner, as well as our RAP graduate-19 year old Journeyman B pressure welder Josh Lefebvre (!!) representing UA Local 488 at the Skills in the Heartland event this week at the DOW Center in Fort Saskatchewan. This was a great opportunity to showcase and promote the skilled trades to over 500 students from surrounding schools! Students were given a chance to try out our state-of-the-art virtual welding simulators and find out more about what the UA can offer for rewarding careers in the trades!

September 30th – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
The UA Canadian office and Local 488 support the Indigenous Communities across Canada and recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30th.
Please, use this day for reflection, education, or participation in a community event to acknowledge the history of residential schools, honor the survivors, their families, and their communities. Take this day to learn something new about Indigenous culture, and how the residential school system has impacted communities, heritage, and way of life.
