National Day for Truth and Reconciliation- September 30th- Local 488 Offices Closed

September 30th – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The UA Canadian office and Local 488 support the Indigenous Communities across Canada and recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30th.

Please, use this day for reflection, education, or participation in a community event to acknowledge the history of residential schools, honor the survivors, their families, and their communities. Take this day to learn something new about Indigenous culture, and how the residential school system has impacted communities, heritage, and way of life.

Visit the Building Trades of Alberta’s website to register your personal pledge of action and gain access to Straight Talk Advisory and Training (STAAT) video to understand more about this 165-years long tragedy. https://bta.ca/bta-encourages-all-to-learn-more-about…/

Take time to learn about what you can do to help work towards reconciliation for

Indigenous peoples in Canada. To find out more, please visit the National Truth

and Reconciliation Website at: https://nctr.ca
